Robin's thesis will focus on the symbiosis between fruit flies and microbes. He will begin with an experimental approach to explore the ecology of symbiotic interactions, using and perfecting methods developed during his Master's internship in the laboratory. These observations will provide key elements to better understand host choices (i.e. infested fruit type) made by Drosophila females during oviposition. At the end, he will combine these data with field work in order to predict pest fluxes between different types of crops.
